There's more to foraging that just food! Covering  stomach aches and cuts, to mosquito bites and persistent cough. Knowing what the trail provides for basic medical ailments is a handy tool for taking care of yourself or a group while in the field.

Making Cough Drops |  2 hours
Learn about the history and practical use of one of the most valued medicinal plants in the western world. And coincidentally one often overlooked remedy in the 21st century.

Day courses

Burning Love: Fire building  |  5 hours
Wood types, building a good fire, sweedish fire log, traditional approaches to firebuilding. Covering everything from basic fire collection, to advanced skills like Swedish fire logs, and one match fires, this course discusses both the theory and practice of keeping warm in the woods.

Getting Knotty: Using rope and cordage  |  5 hours
Learning the best knots so you don't have to tie lots. This is the first step towards shelter building

Tarpology 101: Building Basic Shelters  |  5 hours
Knowing how to use a tarp and rope system can make the difference between an enjoyable trip, and a nightmare, especially on a rainy day. Learn how to combine basic rope and mechanical advantage systems to make your tarp work for you.

Surviving to Thriving Course


This 5 week, 25 hour course comes with course material and a little patch at the end.

Identifying Urban Plants |  5 hours
From wild teas in urban trees, to knowing what plants are edible in the winter. This lesson will have you competent in finding green sustenance in the concrete jungle.

Shelters Shacks and Shanties |  5 hours
Home is where the heart is. Without a proper base, we live to survive. It is not until we build something of good quality, that we can thrive. This lesson will cover how to use terrain and the environment to build the most practical, and comfortable home, in all seasons.

Prepping a Garden |  5 hours
Understanding soil, seeds and sprouts. Growing plants for long term sustenance is simple with a little bit of planning and understanding.

Finding Water |  5 hours
A necessity far more important that food. Water purification, identifying hazards, and accessing water during winter. Sustainable, chemical free purification systems for long term use, and construction of hydralic ram systems to move water efficiently.

Emergency Medicine|  $10.00
Minor medical concerns can become a major problem if handled improperly. Learn how to prepare a comprehensive practical and mental kit for dealing with basic injuries.
